Sustainable Shopping

In the present world, it can be hard to know where to shop without causing a negative impact on the planet. Giving to Conserve has sustainability pledges (ensuring we are as sustainable as possible), but our pledges can help you recognise other sustainable businesses too!

1. Materials

We have taken a range of steps to ensure that our production has minimal impact on the environment, whilst maintaining excellence, including:

Plastic Free Packaging

jewellery packaging

Plastic pollution is a huge problem across the globe and is causing devastating impacts on wildlife. Even making the smallest change/choice, can have a giant impact. We are proud to say that our packaging is completely plastic free. We use materials such as FSC (Forest Management Certification) certified card and paper, which can be recycled after use. This includes our Fairtrade ECO jewellery boxes.

Designed and Made in the UK

It is always best to try and purchase products where the manufacturing process takes place all in one country and then the item just needs to make its way to you. This will reduce the carbon footprint of that sale. All our jewellery and clothing is designed, made or handmade in the UK. We design the jewellery ourselves and use local artists for clothing designs. Rest assured your gifts are in good hands.

Recycled Sterling Silver

Who doesn't love to hear the word recycling - it is always a good sign! We use 100% recycled sterling silver for our jewellery, which drastically reduces any waste that would have normally been produced.

Ethically Mined Gold

Businesses who ensure their products and materials are sourced as ethically as possible is crucial when leading a path in sustainability. We are preparing to launch our first 18K gold plated jewellery pieces, which will be ethically mined for both people and the planet.

2. Donations

Some businesses work towards sustainability by donating a percentage of their profits to various charities or non-profit organisations. This not only gives more meaning and thought to the items to being brought, but it also gives back to a worthy cause. One of our core aims is to give back. We currently donate to six organisations to help fuel wildlife and habitat recovery.

Wildlife

We fund sloth conservation at The Sloth Conservation Foundation, elephant & rhino conservation at Lewa Wildlife Conservancy, turtle & ocean conservation at Oceanic Society and native species conservation at The Wildlife Trusts. We hope to expand this list as well as the amount donated as we grow. We provide info cards with your order which tells you exactly how you are helping.

Habitat

Protecting and restoring our wild places is just as important! We fund tree planting at Eden Reforestation Projects and carbon emission offsetting at Ecologi. We also run our own private and public beach cleans around the UK's coastline where we have so far removed over 49kg of rubbish from our beaches.
